In my homeschool classroom, I have been using the Ultimate Membership from a division of The Old Schoolhouse®. We have been using the membership for a few years, and I’m excited to share this resource.

Online Curriculum: offers over 400 online courses covering all subjects for students preschool-12, as well as courses for parents. Classes are available in a variety of styles and formats and provide the materials parents need to independently home educate.

The online materials are easy to use. Once a course is selected, lessons plans and class PDF files can be printed. Students mark off a checklist as they complete the work.

In addition to course material, tools are available to support parents with planning, recordkeeping, and organization. Resources are available to help teach high school, focus on learning areas where extra help is needed, support for special needs, and so much more.

Why Use

If you know me very well, you are aware I prefer a good old-fashioned physical book over ebooks or online materials. That aside, this online membership offers more resources in one place to effectively support home education. can be used for full curriculum needs for an entire family, or courses can be selected as needed. Curriculum can be selected by age, subject, or a full school box. A school box includes the subjects a student would need for the year, and can be customized to meet the individual student’s needs.

Support and assistance are available. Customer assistance is available during set hours via live chat or phone, and representatives work to respond promptly to emails. A community Facebook group is a great resource to connect with other parents and support staff.

Our Experience: can be used to cover all courses for all of your students, or selected courses to complete your homeschool needs. I have enjoyed picking and choosing the classes and resources we need. We have used some core academics like grammar, and many electives or interest-based classes.

My kids especially enjoy the elective courses. One of my boys took the photography class a couple of years ago. What he learned has helped him qualify to participate in a photography internship within our local community. You can read our earlier review about how he got started.

My daughter enjoyed a bread baking devotional last year that we shared in a review. Her brothers happily volunteered to eat her homework. is a great value at one price for an entire family. Regardless of whether it’s used for a full curriculum or to supplement your lesson plans, it is a cost-efficient resource.
