I love the blunt questions my kids ask. A while ago my son asked, “Why do we need money?” The question sparked a lively discussion on the basics of economics; causing him to change his question to “How can I get more money?”
2013-14 Curriculum Preschool, 2nd, and 4th Grades
Curriculum is all here!!! Yes, I’ve finally conceded that fall has arrived, and with it our curriculum purchases finalized. Little Bear is very excited to begin school this year. By age, she is considered preschool, but with a late fall birthday she could almost be considered a young kindergartener. After much prayer, I felt she […]
While dad was away the little’s did play….
We have just survived several days of an absent dad. It’s always hard on the littles when dad needs to be away. Knowing how much we would all miss him, I was determined to fill our days with some fun. Magoo’s very first entry in his question book was “How is ice cream made?” Although […]
Dad’s teaching science today
Often the least planned lessons turn out to be the most interesting and fun. That was our recent experience, and a great reminder as to why I really enjoy homeschooling. No, I’m not dehydrated or totally out of it….well, maybe, […]
A Question Book lesson
Question books have been a fun way to answer the many questions of my children. A while ago Columbo added to his book “What are crayons made of?” With a little online research I was excited to make a lesson of his question. While encouraging the littles to use the question books for those random […]
Creating a Question Book
I once heard a statistic that the average four-year old asks 400 questions per day. I’m really not sure if the information was supported by any real scientific study. Based on the suggested data, I am grossly aware that all of my children are over achievers!! Columbo is my most inquisitive child. He’s a facts […]
